Condensed Reality is a collaboration project between Peter Mamaev and Sam McNally.

It sparked out of a few of our conversations about the experience of training and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in different environments, and the application of this experience to work, career and personal development, mental health, etc. We thought it would be great to bring our discussions and ideas out to the public in a form of a blog.

And here is a bit about the authors:

My name is Peter Mamaev, a Russian native living in Ireland for the past 11 years. I work as a business consultant for EY, which has brought me to many interesting destinations around the world on work assignments over the past seven years.

I am also a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and together with my wife Silvia, we run our own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Dublin’s south city centre (Jungle BJJ Dublin) since 2016. As of November 2018, we have over 80 students and a ton of visitors travelling from abroad. If you are in the area, make sure to give us a shout!

My name is Sam Mc Nally. As a 16 year old kid I fell in love with the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I have spent many years training, traveling and competing. What I love about Jiu Jitsu is that it is an extremely cerebral art that demands arguably more mental capacity for development than physical.

It is my passion to pass on the lessons I have learned from Jiu Jitsu not only in a technical sense but also in a conceptual sense applicable in many facets of life..

Just over two years ago I set up my own corporate wellness company designed to accommodate the growing needs of the wellness industry with the interesting and innovative art that is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

My company ExecBJJ combines my interests in Business, Sales and Jiu Jitsu with my passion for helping others to grow via the medium of this art. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has helped me so much in terms of self improvement. I’ve enhanced my creativity, self expression and mindfulness in addition to the physical gains.
